The RCC (Carbon controlled Rebound) is one of Obut's newest high performance boule, and another one in the hardness + range (hardness + boules have the behaviour of a very soft boule but the hardness/wear of a traditional semi-soft boule).
Using new metallurgy technologies Obut have used a new carbon steel and have adapted a new manufacturing process specific to the petanque boule.
Like the RCX boule it has an incomparable ability to absorb shock and deaden impact (particularly on hard ground) when doing a high lob pointing shot or a direct boule to boule shot when shooting.
It's new carbon alloy steel and it's very advanced new treatment process gives it 3 additional properties that get the thumbs up from top Petanque players.
- It falls well when doing a direct boule to boule shot.
- It stays nice and smooth with use and remains pleasant to touch.
- It keeps its anti-bounce qualities for a long time, even when used intensively.
After a bit of getting used to these boules bring out the best in attacking play on difficult ground especially by good petanque players who do high lob pointing shots and shoot boule to boule.
These boules are only manufactured with a plain pattern. They have a Satin Black finish which wears away gradually with use.
As these boules are Carbon Steel (and not stainless steel like the RCX) they do require regular maintenance with oil to prevent rust.
For top players this is a stunning set of boules.
They are guaranteed for 3 years against defects (due to the manufacturing process). General boule wear or fading of colour are not considered manufacturing defects.
Please note that all boules come in a set of 3 and have their own unique reference number which can be used as a way to identify them.
