Boulenciel petanque boules are new to DC Petanque in 2018. They are manufactured in Italy.
The Iris is a revolutionary new boule and it's quite obvious to see what the headline feature is: the coloured dots.
These boules certainly look the part, and you can be sure that they will be the centre of attention when other players see you using them.
The coloured dots are not painted on. They are made out of an advanced plastic resin which is drilled into the surface of the boule.
For this reason it will not wear away easily. As you play you will likely see some chips in the colour (more so on terrains with large stones), but the colour should still be clear to see for a long time.
However there is far more to these boules than the headline feature.
They are high performance boules just like all the other boules in the Boulenciel range.
Like other boulenciel boules they are most precision balanced petanque boules in the world. The balancing accuracy is 0.1% of the boule's weight. So this is perfect for pointers who want their boules to stay in a straight line.
The accuracy of the diameter is + 0.02mm (2 hundredths).
With balance that is this exceptional this is an aspect of the boule's performance that you will really notice, especially on rolling terrains with a thin gravel layer.
These boules are semi-soft with a hardness of 118kg/mm2 giving a blend of good anti-rebound performance when shooting along with good durability.
With these boules you will also be able to enjoy the added benefits of stainless steel.
These boules conform to the official rules. They show the weight and an identification number.
They are guaranteed for 2 years against defects (due to the manufacturing process). General boule wear or fading of colour are not considered manufacturing defects.
Please note that all boules come in a set of 3 and have their own unique reference number which can be used as a way to identify them.
